Mark Talbot, DCAT’s CEO has led collective worship at St Leonards CEP Academy focusing on DCAT’s Vision and Values. A year 3 pupil commented,
‘I think Mr Talbot was really brave. He told the whole school he was afraid of birds. That is a brave thing to do. He was really funny too. He talked about potential and how DCAT can help us to have that and I found that interesting. I really liked meeting him.’
Pupils from St Leonard’s CEP Academy have won the Hastings and Rother sports hall athletics GOLD medal. Mr Ray, the sports coach commented, “I am so proud of them all’, their effort, perseverance, team work and courage was there for all to see.”
The children beat 65 other schools to win the gold medal. They will now represent Hastings and Rother in the Sussex finals later in the year.
St Catherine’s College is delighted with pupils’ excellent achievements. In English, 72% of the pupils achieved a ‘standard pass’ with 50% of the year group achieving the higher ‘strong pass’. In Maths, 67% achieved a ‘standard pass’ with 42% achieving the ‘strong pass’.
They highlighted the success of their broad curriculum where over 90% of the pupils achieved A*-C in Religious Studies, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Statistics; with a 100% A*-C pass rate in the vocational subjects of Motor Vehicle and Early Years. Mr Talbot, Principal said: “we are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of staff and pupils”.
Children from Years 2-6 at St Leonard’s CEP Academy have taken part successfully in a Schools’ Cross Country competition. The children were proudly wearing their new running shirts provided through local business sponsorship.
